The Caribbean American Cultural Group Inc. (CACG) celebrated its 42nd Annual Gala on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center in Port St. Lucie. Themed A Night of Elegance and Culture, the evening honored Caribbean heritage and CACG’s commitment to service, fellowship, and cultural preservation. CACG members, led by Mrs. Joyce Smith, SusieQ Planning & Décor, and Michelle “Mush” Irons, transformed the banquet hall for the celebration.

“A Night of Elegance and Culture is more than a celebration; it is a night of gratitude to our sponsors, community partners, members, volunteers, and guests,” said CACG President Dawn Bloomfield. “For 42 years, CACG has celebrated Caribbean culture while serving and strengthening the wider community.”

Mistress of Ceremonies Faye Linton guided the program with warmth, professionalism, and humor. Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin brought greetings on behalf of the city and recognized CACG’s role in building community partnerships and encouraging civic engagement.

The gala honored Terissa Aronson, President and CEO of the St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce, with the 2026 Community Impact Recognition Award. Community Partner Awards were presented to John Cesar of the Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County and Maxine Hinds of Jamaica National Money Services, USA South Region. President Bloomfield also recognized the dedication of CACG’s members and named Polly Green, Winston Ramharrack, and Sterlyn Brown as the 2026 President’s Picks.

Guests enjoyed a cultural fashion showcase hosted by Lavern Williams, featuring attire representing Africa, Haiti, Jamaica, Guyana, the Bahamas, and the United States. DJ Mike String and The Vision Band closed the evening with lively performances that kept the dance floor full.

One guest captured the gala’s spirit: “There is something special about being in a room where culture, history, resilience, and community come together. When we celebrate one another, we build stronger communities.”

CACG looks forward to continuing its mission of preserving Caribbean heritage, fostering fellowship, strengthening community partnerships, and serving the Treasure Coast.
